So I went on my End of Year trip for JROTC yesterday. We were going to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and staying from the time it opened until it closed. It didn't go as planned.

We went there, got inside. I rode the Boomerang, which is a huge success for me (despite the fact that I had my eyes closed the entire time). But just as I was going to meet Jessica and Rat at the Gully Washer, it began to rain. You know how that goes; they started closing down the rides when thunder started booming and lightning started striking.

It was raining pretty hard so we decided to go eat lunch until the rain let up a little. We met up with Jon and Tanya and Meme and his (ex-) girlfriend and went to go eat. 30 minute rule. Jon said that every time lightning strikes or thunder is heard, we have to wait 30 minutes before they started getting the rides back up. He had his little stopwatch, so he would reset it every time we saw or heard one of the two. It was pretty aggravating.

We finished eating and the rain had let up a little, Jessica and Rat went to the bathroom while Jon, Tanya, and I found the candy store. Then Tanya needed to use the bathroom so she went and we realized Jess and Rat had ditched. Blui and Garish came up to me while I was waiting on Jon and Tanya. Tanya wanted to change into her bathing suit, so we went to the locker to get her stuff. I went with her to change and Jon waited.

"Dammit, where's Blui?!" Jon would yell every time we heard thunder. He joked that he would beat Blui up if he heard thunder and had to reset his watch again. The three of us wanted to go on the Scooby-Doo ride. It was the only one open since it was indoors. Apparently, everyone in the whole park realized this. About a fourth of the way in, we changed our minds. It was a lame ride. We went outside and, lo and behold!, they were doing a test run on the Frisbee! We raced to get in line before everyone saw.

We got to be with the first group on. We got off, Jess and Rat were there. Colonel wanted all of us at the meeting point. There was talk that we were leaving and going to the mall. "But...no!" The rides were starting back up! No, Colonel wanted us to leave because he didn't want to be stuck there just because there was a strike of lightning.

We went to Burger King to eat. It was sunny and bright the rest of the day. "This is bullshit." we all muttered. We were going to the mall instead. Jamie wanted him and Ayshia to hang out with Jon and Tanya, a double-date type thing. Ayshia wanted to hang out with whoever she damn well pleased. She hung out with me. Jamie got mad.

We went to Spencer's. I'm getting Ayshia penis candles for her birthday cake. I was walking away, looking at more stuff. "Miranda," I heard Justin call me. I was about to turn my head, but then I felt his fingers lightly on my waist--enough to send my senses out of whack. His head was right next to mine. "Lend me ten dollars so I can buy this cap." He proceeded to lead me to a Kermit the Frog cap. 'After touching me that way, boy, I'll lend you anything you want.' Oh, ten dollars was all I had. Woops. No spending money for me.

'Way to go.' berated the voice in my head. 'He probably did it on purpose.' Oh look! A Waldenbooks! No money, though. Looking around, oh hey Colonel!

Atlas Shrugged. Colonel said if I was going to be an English major in college, I would have to read it eventually. Colonel's always looking out for me; I'm his golden child. I never do anything wrong. If only he knew.

Riiing. 'Hello?' Hey Mom, you should wire me some money. 'Take some out of your savings account. There should be an ATM.' Oh yeah! Forty dollars. I bought Atlas Shrugged and East of Eden. Meg & Dia wrote a song about East of Eden. "Monster."

We went home.

I realized I was getting sick, probably from running around in the rain. I took two NyQuil and knocked out.

Strangest dream.

I made out with three different guys; one was Justin. Oh, dear subconscious, you blew that touch way out of proportion. Colonel came stomping it, yelling at all three of them each time. I insisted it was my fault too, but he wouldn't raise his voice to me.

I'm his golden child. I never do anything wrong.

Each guy gave me a different flower. Justin gave me a white one, the second guy a red one, and the third a gold one. Whatever that means.

Here's what I think it means;

Justin being there is pretty explainable. My subconscious blew what happened yesterday way out of proportion. Plain and simple.

The two other guys represent my current slip into promiscuity. Did I mention a couple of weekends ago, I made out with a guy I didn't even know at a local concert? Because I did. Haven't spoken to him since, despite that he's called and texted me a few times. 'Hit it and quit it.'

I'm afraid to disappoint Colonel. That's why he was there and wouldn't listen to me. Because I want him to know that I'm not the golden child he thinks I am, but I'm afraid to disappoint him by letting him know. He's been like a second father figure to me, always looking out for what's best.

I dunno, just something I thought I'd rant about.

There's pretty lightning out tonight. It's going south. No thunder, just lightning. "I should call Jon, be like 'Dammit, where's Blui?!'" I called him. He laughed and said, "If I had Blui's number, I'd call him and say, 'Dammit, Blui, where are you?! I'm gonna kick your ass!'" We laughed and said we'd see each other Tuesday at school.

Only a couple more weeks.

Next Friday, I'm going up to Brian for my cousin's graduation. I get to miss school.

It's so pretty tonight, but eerie. The air is still, not a breeze. I was sitting out there reading and then came inside.
